I really have not been taking care of myself when it comes to food in...my cup has (negatively) runneth over! And I am now down to T-less than one week until my 1/2 Marathon. Every single thing I put into my body is going to be critical for me on this final week.
Time to have this cup filled up with vim, vigor & vitality!
Just so you all know, here is how I handle it to ensurenothing less than 100% success on Sunday for the 1/2:
IMMUNITY by New Chapter
Probiotics
Multivitamin
Digestive Enzymes
HCL
Sauerkraut Raw
Magic Mineral Broth
Tea
Coconut Milk
Honey
Lean turkey meat
Chicken
Chicken broth
Bananas
Side note on the IMMUNITY: I thought I was getting sick last week. Everyone at work is sick, too. This product was suggested to me. I got it at Whole Foods. I didn't end up getting sick. Fabulous!
That's it! I'm SO ready. I'm SO determined. I'm SO focused! I can't hardly contain my excitement for this upcoming week/weekend events. Stay tuned....I'm working on a "13.1" List!
Did you try to get in to the San Francisco Nike Women's Marathon or 1/2 Marathon via Lottery, but not get chosen?
Well here's your second chance at it!
This is a Sold Out event! The event is in San Francisco on October 18th. For all the details please click HERE.
And if those details don't excite you, maybe a few more details will:

And yes, it's TRUE. Once you cross that finish line, there will be men in tuxedo's waiting for you - to give you that little Tiffany's box!
Today I bring to you yoursecond chance of getting into this! I have a few ways to do this. Here they are (PLEASE MAKE NOTE: For ALL winners - you will still need to pay the entry fee. What I provide you is the access code to get in. You take it from there!):

I "Ran Like a Girl" with my Nike Running Group in Danville this morning. I moved up (or rather down!) a group, to the 9 minute pace group vs. 9:30 minute pace group. We did 8 miles today.
It was extra challenging today for some reason. I am guessing it was a combination of the drop in time along with the fact that I have barely had any carbs this week! Next Sunday I may have to try a little coffee before the run.
Post-run, too, I was extremely hungry. I decided that that's probably the hardest thing for me right now - lack of food post-run. I realize that I just need to get creative and figure it out. It was nice to have a run with no side pain or bloat!
This week I'm going to Nike's Headquarters in Oregon. I got chosen to be a Nike+ Human Race Ambassador for the 2009 Race. I will have much more information coming soon on this. I will say this - I am so excited! I can barely wait to get there and learn all about it - and then to get out and promote!
The pain in my upper stomach went away this afternoon (I wonder if I was eating too much of the raw sauerkraut, etc? I went back to just the juice today). My stomach growled a couple of times, and I went to the bathroom, though it was fairly loose. I wonder about that flax from yesterday? I was not bloated in an uncomfortable way at all today, though perhaps a tiny, tiny bit upon waking (again, perhaps the flax?). My mouth was great, ~2/3 Level. My energy was great, once I kept eating and eating to regain strength after the run.
Here is what I ate today (new additions):
Chicken
Chicken Broth
Magic Mineral Broth
Ground Turkey - slowcooked
Wild Salmon - slowcooked
Raw Sauerkraut, Raw Vegi-Delite, White Miso
Artisana Raw Walnut/Cashew Butter
~2oz Red Wine
Coconut Milk Tonic (100% Pure Coconut Water - Vita Coco, Coconut Milk & 1 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract)
Weak Coffee + Coconut Milk Light + Honey)
Cooked Carrots (then mashed) with Ghee & Cinnamon/Honey
Banana (fairly ripe) - post run
Cooked Kombu cooked with Coconut Oil
I made sure to take my Probiotics, HCL, Enzymes and Fish Oil. I also took one serving of the Magnesium Citrate.
A very good friend of mine said to me today, "The Possibilities are Endless....they really are."
She is absolutely right. I have such a burning passion for excitement, life and endless possibilities. But when she said it today, it really hit home.
She continued on with, "There are a trillion - more than a trillion - possibilities in life. Where you live; what you do; who you spend time with; ideas you come up with; on and on and on."
What is more exciting than that? There is an entire world out there - and it awaits for you and for me - for the possibilities that are yet to come. But you need to search within and find your own source of inspiration; where your possibilities derive from.
I believe that these sources are ever-changing. And that's okay. They should change. Change is good. This same friend says, "Shake it up people....change is good."
So where is my inspiration coming from at this very moment? Here are my Top 3:
Between the website and products, the owner Leigh and her team do a fabulous job with making any day "lighter" and "brighter." My favorite quote they have says this, "I am fairly certain that given a Cape and nice tiara, I could save the world." Every woman should have this fridge magnet hanging up!
"With words we create anything we want to create; with those creations we realize our endless possibilities." - s.k.h
inner architect is a company I truly admire. In my opinion, they have success because they have built a great foundation. Their website is amazing. Through their website they demonstrate what they are good at, what they know and how they execute. I have heard them speak live and I have listened to them via Webinars. I strongly recommend anyone wanting to learn more about Web 2.0 to join in their next series of Webinars beginning August 14th.
"Web 2.0 is not going away. With patience, persistence and education, you can make Social Media a part of your Marketing plan. You should make it a part of your Marketing plan. With it will come endless possibilities." - s.k.h
I "Run Like a Girl" in the "Nike Women's Run Club." I am praying to get in to the Nike Women's 1/2 Marathon. I attend my long runs every Sunday in Danville. It's so inspiring to see so many women there - all running together. There is nothing like running with many other people. I run a little harder, a little faster and a little further to be my best. I find strength, happiness and comfort in this - mostly because I am so proud that I can do it with my stomach still healing. It's so amazing, though, when I get done with a long Sunday morning run and I feel great!
"Sure running gets you in shape. Sure it allows you to eat a little more and weigh a little less. But what running does for me is lets me know that I am in charge of my body. When I feed my body like I'm supposed to, listen to my body like it tells me to and treat it the way I should given my condition, I see only the endless possibilities." - s.k.h.

Tonight I THANK YOU, Ms. Julie Gomes, for teaching me, showing me, believing in me (and in us - in our fame) and pushing me to endless possibilities. (You will be so missed!)
We had a great weekend! It was so hot in California this weekend! Yesterday it was 110 degrees; yeah, way too hot! Thankfully, though, Ryan and I went to the pool both Saturday and Sunday!
Yesterday marked Day 1 of the Run Like a Girl running club in Danville. I loved it! A few things from the event:
Since yesterday was our first day, we had to do a timed 2-miler (our "best effort") to see what pace group we should be in for the weekly runs. I was pleasantly surprised with my 2-mile pace: 16:08 or ~8:04/mile. (Keep in mind that in High School I ran the mile in about 10-12 minutes!) My "pace train," therefore, will be between 9:30-10:30/mile.
I felt wonderful during the entire run! Yes, it got hard the last 1/2 mile, but my stomach held up perfectly. All I ate before the run was 1/4 Fruit Fusion bar. (And then we rewarded ourselves by grabbing a Soy Latte at Peets afterwards!)
I learned yesterday that just because you do everything right and get all 20 "swooshes" stamped on your card, still doesn't mean you'll get into the race. I was heartbroken to hear this. I believe it's only the first 300 that fill their cards up. I will still give it 100%, as I am hopeful that I can get in.
I am friends with "Jane Runner" on facebook. You can learn all about the Run Like a Girl Club if your friends with her! Click here to find her.
I didn't have too many problems this weekend. Later yesterday afternoon and after dinner I felt bloated. Something wasn't right. Other than that, my stomach did very well again this weekend. My mouth was a little annoyed on Saturday, and it was about a 3/4 yesterday. I had great energy this weekend (athough, I definitely over-did myself this weekend with my workouts).
It's still so early in the morning, so no food to record yet. Here are the foods I "deviated" from (my normal) over the weekend:
Coconut Bacardi + Sprite
Wine Tasting
I had 2 Soy Latte's vs one
Sweet potatoes last night (with olive oil and cinnamon)
Grilled Chicken on Friday night and Saturday afternoon
Other than that, everything the same.
Time to lace up my Nike's and head outside again to "Run Like a Girl."
