Back from Beaverton and STILL Symptom-Free

Day 124.

Day 12 with Gaps.

I am back from an absolutely UNREAL couple of days in Beaverton, Oregon at the Nike WHQ! My blog post tomorrow will be all about Nike - so we let the suspense build!

It has been 12 days that I have virtually been without bloat. The immediate change in my stomach that has taken place has taken me by storm. I can't believe it each and every day I wake up! I was very good in Oregon, only eating a little fruit and sticking with meat the rest of the time. I never got bloated there, either!

Here is what I ate today (new additions):
  • Chicken
  • Chicken Broth
  • Magic Mineral Broth
  • Ground Turkey - slowcooked
  • Raw Sauerkraut, Raw Vegi-Delite, White Miso
  • Artisana Raw Walnut/Cashew Butter
  • Coconut Milk Tonic (100% Pure Coconut Water - Vita Coco, Coconut Milk & 1 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract)
  • Cooked Carrots (then mashed) with Ghee & Honey (probably only 1/2 c. or less)
  • Turkey breast cooked with Coconut Oil (probably only 1/2 c. or less)
  • Banana
  • Artisana Raw Pecan/Cashew Butter
I made sure to take my Probiotics, HCL, Enzymes and Fish Oil.

A Tad Bloat Tonight. It's OK.

Day 120.

Day 8 with Gaps.

Here is a sign that I know I'm moving in the right direction with my health - I don't want to think about it tonight! I am more concerned today with the fact that I get to fly to Portland tomorrow and be at Nike Headquarters until Thursday than I am about discussing any "problems." BUT, this also stems from the fact that I don't have problems right now for the most part! Love it!

My stomach was not bloated today, until a little bit tonight. I am a little concerned because I'm not going "to the bathroom" like I should be. I need things to start moving. It would really "seal this deal!" I think my night carrots/kombu could be the culprit to the bloat? Even though I didn't have much of them, I have had a little bloat since starting to eat these. My mouth was great, ~2/3 Level. My energy was great!

I had an unreal moment last night. I was reading the Gut and Psychology Syndrome book by the Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride MD last night. I am addicted to it and already almost finished with it! Anyways, I stumbled upon a piece that just may explain my mouth problems! She uses terms I've always used to describe this problem - chronic, mucosa, inflammation, etc. I am going to have a lot of stuff to talk about (between this finding AND Nike) when I return!

Until then, please pray that I make it with the food change. It will be virtually impossible to have broth and super clean meat while I'm away. I'm going to do my best. Nothing beats the feeling of no bloat!

Here is what I ate today (there were no new additions):
  • Chicken
  • Chicken Broth
  • Magic Mineral Broth
  • Ground Turkey - slowcooked
  • Wild Salmon - slowcooked
  • Raw Sauerkraut, Raw Vegi-Delite, White Miso
  • Artisana Raw Walnut/Cashew Butter
  • Coconut Milk Tonic (100% Pure Coconut Water - Vita Coco, Coconut Milk & 1 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract)
  • Weak Coffee + Coconut Milk Light + Honey
  • Cooked Carrots (then mashed) with Ghee & Cinnamon/Honey (probably only 1/2 c. or less)
  • Cooked Kombu cooked with Coconut Oil (probably only 1/2 c. or less)
I made sure to take my Probiotics, HCL, Enzymes and Fish Oil. I also took one serving of the Magnesium Citrate.

Day 7 with GAPS

Day 119.

Day 7 with GAPS.

I "Ran Like a Girl" with my Nike Running Group in Danville this morning. I moved up (or rather down!) a group, to the 9 minute pace group vs. 9:30 minute pace group. We did 8 miles today.

It was extra challenging today for some reason. I am guessing it was a combination of the drop in time along with the fact that I have barely had any carbs this week! Next Sunday I may have to try a little coffee before the run.

Post-run, too, I was extremely hungry. I decided that that's probably the hardest thing for me right now - lack of food post-run. I realize that I just need to get creative and figure it out. It was nice to have a run with no side pain or bloat!

This week I'm going to Nike's Headquarters in Oregon. I got chosen to be a Nike+ Human Race Ambassador for the 2009 Race. I will have much more information coming soon on this. I will say this - I am so excited! I can barely wait to get there and learn all about it - and then to get out and promote!

The pain in my upper stomach went away this afternoon (I wonder if I was eating too much of the raw sauerkraut, etc? I went back to just the juice today). My stomach growled a couple of times, and I went to the bathroom, though it was fairly loose. I wonder about that flax from yesterday? I was not bloated in an uncomfortable way at all today, though perhaps a tiny, tiny bit upon waking (again, perhaps the flax?). My mouth was great, ~2/3 Level. My energy was great, once I kept eating and eating to regain strength after the run.

Here is what I ate today (new additions):
  • Chicken
  • Chicken Broth
  • Magic Mineral Broth
  • Ground Turkey - slowcooked
  • Wild Salmon - slowcooked
  • Raw Sauerkraut, Raw Vegi-Delite, White Miso
  • Artisana Raw Walnut/Cashew Butter
  • ~2oz Red Wine
  • Coconut Milk Tonic (100% Pure Coconut Water - Vita Coco, Coconut Milk & 1 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract)
  • Weak Coffee + Coconut Milk Light + Honey)
  • Cooked Carrots (then mashed) with Ghee & Cinnamon/Honey
  • Banana (fairly ripe) - post run
  • Cooked Kombu cooked with Coconut Oil
I made sure to take my Probiotics, HCL, Enzymes and Fish Oil. I also took one serving of the Magnesium Citrate.

A Relaxing Day

Day 118 (still).

Ryan and I had a great, relaxing day today! It was what I needed; now I just need about 5 more like it!

My only complaint with today was that I was very thirsty (it was hot) and I have this pain way in my upper stomach (just beneath breast bone) that's unusual. It's kind of like a "flu" feeling, only I don't feel sick. I had it yesterday and it continued today. I'm not sure what it's all about. It doesn't hurt when I run, though? It's odd. I was not bloated at all today! My mouth was great, ~2/3 Level. My energy was great. The eye twitching has almost completely disappeared. All I can say again is "unreal!"

Here is what I ate today (new additions):
  • Chicken
  • Magic Mineral Broth
  • Ground Turkey - slowcooked
  • Raw Sauerkraut, Raw Vegi-Delite, White Miso
  • Artisana Raw Walnut/Cashew Butter
  • Broiled Ahi Tuna
  • ~2oz Red Wine
  • Coconut Milk Tonic (100% Pure Coconut Water - Vita Coco, Coconut Milk & 1tsp Organic Vanilla Extract)
  • Breakfast Pancake (Flax, Zucchini, Artisana Raw Walnut/Cashew Butter + Honey)
I made sure to take my Probiotics, HCL, Enzymes and Fish Oil.

Today I got my GAPS Diet book in the mail. I already started reading it; I'm hooked! Time to get back to the book.....

Post-Friday Post

Day 118.

Yesterday was Day 5 with the GAPS Diet. I didn't post, but I want to make sure to let everyone know about the day.

Here is what I ate yesterday (new additions):
  • Chicken
  • Homemade Chicken Broth
  • Magic Mineral Broth
  • Broiled Salmon + Lemon
  • Ground Turkey - slowcooked
  • Raw Sauerkraut, Raw Vegi-Delite, White Miso
  • Artisana Raw Walnut/Cashew Butter
  • Coconut Milk (more than usual) w/ ~ 1/2 c. weak coffee
  • Broiled Ahi Tuna
  • ~ 4oz Red Wine
  • 100% Pure Coconut Water (Vita Coco)
I made sure to take my Probiotics, HCL, Enzymes and Fish Oil.

My day was fabulous again! No bloating! (Side Note: I was trying to push my stomach out and it would not budge. It was purely comical to me!) Now that is PRICELESS! My mouth annoyed me some yesterday. It was probably a level 5/6. I had good energy. No fatigue.

Day 5 was a success. I'm happy to see how Day 6 goes today!
